This is an effect pedal I recently built (with a little help from my friends ;).

The pedal body is actually an non-functioning industrial footswitch that I found, manufactured by the Herga company. I removed all the inside peripherals, and kept the mechanical parts in it.

Once you step on the pedal, there is a little pin that stretches out enough to activate a DPDT (toggle) switch. The switch is affixed to the bottom of the inside using a metal plate and some screws. Next thing I did was to drill holes in both sides for the input and output 1/4" PL jacks.

The circuit is based on the famous Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face pedal that was utilized by many famous artists (Jimi used a modified one). The schematics were taken from the Fuzz Central website. The transistors are NPN Silicon (not Germanium).

The power supply jack was taken from an old laptop and was soldered on the blue matrix along with all the other parts. The circuit was then soldered to the potentiometers that were drilled to the covering of the pedal.

In the end, I got a fully working (and wonderfully sounding) fuzz pedal, with two knobs: one for "fuzz" and one for volume. This is how it looks like in the end:

I owe a big thank you to all the friends that made this pedal possible:
Zobel - for all the guidance all along the way.
Shlomo - for taking care of all the parts that had to do with mechanics.
Albert - for the help with the soldering and circuit-design.
and of course SALA and Eliran! I've learnt alot, thank you very much!
